World War II Memorial Fountain
Washington DC
Our task was to engineer design and construct a complete operating control system for the Fountain Memorial. This control system consisted of a nine section Motor Control Center Structure with Variable Frequency Drives for the Fountain Display Pumps and three Fountain Operating Control Panels. Control panels “A” and “B” each incorporated a state of the art Programmable Logic Controller to monitor and control all aspects of the fountain. Each panels’ door consisted of a multitude of pilot/monitoring devices. These pilot devices controlled and monitored the fountains operating modes, lighting, jets, pumps drive status and weather conditions. Control Panel “C” was for remote control and monitoring of the Fountain.
